The Incomplete Tasks window displays only tasks that
have a status different than completed. If you need to look at
completed tasks, click on the Completed Tasks link the
navigation bar to the left of your window. This window includes 4 elements: a title bar, a
search bar, a task list, and a quick task open box.
- The title bar tells you where you are in
AceProject.
- The Add a Task link allows you to create a new task in the current
project. Note that you must have the proper access right to create new
tasks.
- The Search link lets you perform a search based on text content. The
search is made within 3 description fields: Summary, Details and Comment
Thread.

The Printer Version link opens a window that
contains only the tasks that correspond to your search
criteria. You can even choose the number of tasks per page.

The Export link opens a window that allows you to export
the list of tasks that is displayed on your screen. Exportation is
available in two formats: CSV and Microsoft Excel. The following
criteria can be set: Column Delimiter, Decimal Symbol and Date Format.

The Show/Hide Columns link opens a window that allows you to decide
which columns will be displayed in the task list. Note that this option
will set columns for the "My tasks", "Incomplete Tasks" and "Completed
Tasks" pages as well.
- At the end of the title bar you will find the link to contextual
help.
- The title bar will also display the total number of tasks that
fit the search criteria chosen.

The search bar lets you select which tasks to display, much
like a filter.
- Simply choose the task group, status, type,
priority and/or assignee, and click Apply Filter.
- You may select one or more search criteria.
- Note that the statuses drop-down list only contains statuses having
either a "To Do" or an "In Progress" status type.
- Note that the filters you will apply will be remembered every time
you will open the current page.
- The task list
displays all tasks corresponding to your search criteria.
- You can
sort the table by clicking on any column header: click once to
sort in ascending order and twice to sort in descending order.

Task numbers may be integers or decimal numbers. You can use
decimals to simulate sub-tasks.

You may click on any task summary to open it.
- If there is a file icon next to the task summary (
),
this means there are file(s) attached to the task. Click on
the file number to open the task's file attachment tab.
- If there is a clock icon next to the task summary (
),
this means you have an IN/OUT item active for this task.
Click the clock to edit your counter.
- A page icon to the right of the task summary means that there is a file attached to
it, while the number beside it tells you how many files are
attached to the task.
- The Quick
Task Open box lets you open a specific task directly.
- This avoids having to
browse to the task you want.
What is a task?
A task is an action a user must do within
the framework of a project. A task is assigned to a user and must
be completed within a certain time frame.
How do I add a task?
To add a task, click on the "Add a task"
link on top right of the title bar. Then, fill out the mandatory
fields and click on the "Save" button. You must have proper
access rights to be able to add a task.
How do I modify a task?
To modify a task, click on
the task summary. You will be redirected to the "Edit Task
Information" page. Simply make your modifications and click the
"Update" button. You must have the proper access rights to be
able to modify a task.
How do I delete a task?
To delete a task, click on the task
summary. You will be redirected to the Edit Task Information page.
Then, click on the "Delete" button. Once confirmed, the task will
be deleted. You must have proper access rights to be able to
delete a task.
How do I perform a search in the task
list?
A search bar is available at the top of
the Tasks page. You can perform a search on 5 basic criteria, one
at a time or combining several.
How do I sort tasks?
Tasks are automatically sorted in accordance with your preferences.
Moreover, you can sort the table by
clicking on any column header: click once to sort in ascending
order and twice to sort in descending order.
How can I find a specific task?
You can access a specific task by entering its number in the "Quick Task
Open box" below the task list.
Where are my completed tasks? / I've lost a task! / A task has disappeared from the list!
Completed tasks are displayed in a separate window, to make task
management easier. When you set a task's status to completed, it
is automatically moved to the Completed Tasks page. To see your
completed tasks, click on the Completed Tasks link on the left
panel.
I want to make a search on completed
tasks. Where is the completed status?
You cannot choose a "completed" status as a search criteria because this page
is for tasks that are incomplete. To see your
completed tasks, click on the Completed Tasks link on the left
panel.
